Our History
The Four Counties Cricket League (FCCL) has been a cornerstone of local cricket for decades, bringing together clubs from Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, and Oxfordshire.
Founded with the aim of fostering competitive yet friendly cricket, the league has grown from a handful of local teams to a robust competition featuring multiple divisions.
The Early Years
In the beginning, matches were friendly affairs organized between village teams. As the desire for structured competition grew, the league was formally established, setting standard playing conditions and a regular season schedule.
Growth and Expansion
Over the years, the FCCL has expanded to include more clubs, necessitating the creation of multiple divisions to ensure competitive balance. The introduction of promotion and relegation added a new layer of excitement to the season finale.
Present Day
Today, the league continues to thrive, supported by a dedicated committee and enthusiastic volunteers at every member club. We are committed to upholding the Spirit of Cricket and providing a high-quality cricketing experience for players of all ages and abilities.
